Introducing the Claudia Tank

I’m so glad to be introducing the first pattern of 2021! After a more involved pattern like the Tatjana Trousers, I needed a palate cleanser but I also wanted something that would go really well with existing patterns. Here comes the Claudia Tank:

The Claudia Tank is my version of the fun trend of the padded sleeveless t-shirt. As you know, I have a long-term commitment to high-waisted bottoms, and I love the dramatic silhouette created by the relaxed fit and the padded shoulders. Claudia has a strong 80s influence, but it’s also reminiscent of the muscle tees worn in old Hollywood productions. I’ve sewn several samples for myself and I cannot wait for the weather to warm up to wear one every day!

The pattern features a relaxed fit, dropped shoulder, and a ribbing crewneck. The armholes are finished with facing and the instructions include an optional step to cover the shoulder pads with self fabric if you wish.

All samples are cut from mid-weight and heavy cotton jerseys, and for this pattern, I recommend using knit fabric with a good body.

This sewing pattern is available in the full-size range 34 to 56, with a B/C cup for the 34-46 size range and a DD cup for the 46-56 range! The instructions include step-by-step instructions. This pattern is a super quick sew, and in case you need help, I curate a list of useful tutorials on the resource page!

The pattern includes:

• Layered PDF pattern in printing options for each of the 2 size ranges (print at home for letter or A4, A0 and US Copyshop for paper 36" wide);

• a Cutter's must (a summary table of the pattern pieces and cutting information);

• PDF layout;

• order of operations ;

• and step-by-step illustrated instructions.

As with recently released patterns, Claudia is available in French and English. It follows the new layout and branding you already noticed for the Tatjana Trousers, making the instructions easier to read. I also recently updated the Stephanie Skirt for the same look, and the Tyra Tee will be next!

As usual, the pattern features Just Patterns’ signature “order of construction” as it comes in handy for experienced sewists who like to refer quickly to steps without scrolling through pages of instructions.

I’m also taking this opportunity to highlight that I made good progress on the improved size range of the Linda Wrap Dress. If the current testing round goes well, it should soon be available in the full size range, in both languages, and with new pictures.
