Tyra Tee testers round-up

Delphine (Sewing Tidbits)

Dear readers,

I have some tutorials for the Tyra Tee's hacks planned for the coming weeks, but first, I wanted to share the fantastic versions sewn by the testers. Seeing them helps give you an idea of what the patterns will look like on different bodies, and I'm incredibly grateful for the work and support of the members of my testing group.

Tyra went through only one round of testing, but the main outcome was that the entire size chart needed to go down one size. 44 became 42, 56 became 54, etc. In this post, I will be mentioning the size used as reflected in the final pattern.

Alisha, of alishasparks sewed size 50 in a black Ponte:

Lorraine, of The Sewcialite, made hers in a firm white jersey and she sized up with a 36 for an extra oversized vibe.

Beth, of Beth Smith Textiles, made this gorgeous version in size 50 in a hot pink jersey. She experimented with styling and I cannot decide which one I like best!

Caroline, of Sidonie Makes, also had some fun with the styling of her Tyra, sewn in size 40 in a patterned orange jersey. She also sized down to a 38 for a more fitted top in a sweater knit, with lengthened sleeves and a bias bound neckline 😍.

Judy, of A Custom Clothier, made two version in size 46, a simple grey one that can be worn in many different ways and stripe one to which she added the cutest pocket!

Eleonora, of io_e_carlotta, made her super fun version in a jersey with some drape in size 38.

Last but not least, Nicole of Nicole at Home, sewed this adorable stripe version sizing up to a 36. I can personally vouch for the French vibes of the version, it’s absolutely perfect!

You may have noticed that this is a relatively small testing group. The explanation is that this was the first time that I could implement some kind of financial compensation for testers, so that led to a limitation on the number of testers. I’m very happy to have started implementing something that I think is super important for the sustainability of Just Patterns.

I’m taking this opportunity to give again a huge thanks for my testing team. Your energy and passion for sewing is truly invigorating!! I also wanted to remind you that you have until Friday to get the Tyra Tee sewing pattern 20%. Visit the shop!
